At this point, I removed the anchor mechanism guts, and removed the four screws holding the rear deck of the ship in place. Removing the deck also requires carefully prying off the shrouds for the rear mast, which are glued in place.

After separating the hulls, all that holds them together is some wiring. At this point you can cut the wires, but I opted to continue the dissection. I removed the screws holding the speaker, the circuit board and the anchor mechanism cover.

Railing Too High

The railing is way too high for 25-28mm figures, so it needs to be removed and replaced with something a little more to scale.

With the rear deck removed, I was able to unscrew the switch that activates the lights and cannon noise, as well as the cabin lights. There was also small circuit board that needed to be cut off from underneath the bottom of the rear deck.

Hulls Separated

Finally the hulls are separated completely. I then cut off about an inch from the top of the lower hull, using a Dremel tool, to glue back onto the main hull.

The lower hull section needs to have a part of it removed to add to the main hull section. I used a Dremel took with a cutting wheel to cut around the part I needed. Then I sanded the bottom of it smooth.
